Immensely gifted and confident, Yumi started performing at the early age of 8. To hone her singing skills she enrolled at the Center for Pop Music and also developed her acting skills by studyting at the Center for Arts. She is currently a voice student at University of the Philippines.Yumi speaks English and Filipino and knows fair Nihonggo. She has performed at several 5-star hotels such as Sofitel's Le Bar, Elks Club, Seventh High Lounge, Hyatt Manila and was the youngest lounge singer to ever perform at Resorts World Manila. In 2010 she was awarded “Most Promising Young Female Jazz Artist” by the Asia Pacific Excellence Awards Committee and Asia Pacific Awards Council.
