About Vince Lahorra
John Vincent Lahorra, a.k.a. Vince Lahorra, has been a professional musician since 1995. He plays the tenor and soprano saxophones, is the leader of The Vince Lahorra Quartet, a 4-piece jazz ensemble, and composes/arranges music. He has performed all over the Philippines as well as in India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Brunei, and Hong Kong as part of different bands or as a solo artist.
In December of 2008, he formed The Vince Lahorra Quartet, consisting of himself on saxophone, Ryan Villamor on piano, Dave Harder or Gerald Flores on bass, and Fernando Mendoza, Jr. or Given Bacani on drums. The group has performed in numerous events in Manila, Davao, and Batangas.
Vince's musical training started at age 9 with classical piano lessons under a private tutor, which he found tedious and uninteresting. He was drawn to the guitar during his teen years and started playing "by ear". By combining the discipline of music theory with the fun of playing by ear, the music suddenly seemed natural and effortless, and a whole new world opened up for him. As an Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) student at Don Bosco Technical College, he played guitar in a jazz band. He graduated in 1989 and passed the board exam the same year. One fateful day in 1990, while rummaging through a friend's house attic, he unearthed an old, mothballed saxophone. Thus started a passion that has grown through the years and continues to this day.

Performances
Vince Lahorra performs at the Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati, every Tuesday 12 to 2pm. Venue is the Concourse, level P1 in front of Ooma.
Vince Lahorra also performs at the Gilarmi Lounge, Discovery Primea Hotel, Ayala Ave., Makati, every Wednesday 6 to 9pm.
